Grade 2 visits Bee Garden

Grade 2 visited the Bee Garden apiary and had the chance to discover a tiny world full of cooperation, organisation and… plenty of hard work!

Through observation and hands-on experience, the children explored the hive and learned how bees work together, organise their daily lives and produce their valuable products.

We watched the bees at work up close and discovered that every member of the hive has its own role and contributes to the functioning of the whole community.

And, of course, our introduction to beekeeping ended in the sweetest possible way! We tasted different varieties of honey and delicious honeycomb.

The experience continued after we returned to school. The children were asked to observe the photographs of the visit and write a short caption for each one, describing what they had seen.

Because when learning begins with a real experience, observation becomes knowledge, knowledge becomes language, and a memory becomes an opportunity for further learning.
