🎼 When Children Sing Hadjidakis
A musical evening dedicated to the great composer.
Who said that young people do not love this kind of music?
Children love what is real. They love what moves them, what carries soul. The problem is not that they are uninterested. It is that they are rarely given the chance to encounter something beyond what is pre-packaged and easy.
And yet, when they come across a song that has stood the test of time without losing any of its beauty, they recognize it immediately— as if they had always known it.
That evening, we did not simply listen to Hadjidakis. We listened to children borrowing, for a moment, the voice of a great creator and returning it to us transformed into something their own. And that was truly moving.
A big thank you to the arts team and all the teachers of our school. Because behind every such moment are people who insist on looking beyond the trends of the time. Beyond what is often promoted as meaningful, but is not.
